The splendor of the sedum at this time of the year is simply amazing! Not only do the bees love them, can you spot the Hummingbird enjoying them?
We wish everyone a great week, a great year! Some yellow, thanks to the American Goldfinches, as school buses are back on the roadways!
August seemed to fly by…here we are in September! Wishing everyone a great month! Hairy Woodpecker doesn’t much care…just happy to have a snack!
If at all possible, please keep nectar and/or fruit feeders cleaned and available for the beautiful Orioles & Hummingbirds…they are looking to fuel up over the next while!
Another wonderful time of the year when nectar-loving birds, including Hummingbirds, are quite active. Always love the bonus blooms provided by the weigela shrubs…the Hummingbirds love them too!
No matter what, always look up….you never know who might be keeping an eye on you!
It’s pretty hard to believe that August has arrived! It’s a special time with butterfly sightings/visits, sunflowers blooming and plenty of action around the nectar feeders! Hope your garden is busy with bees, butterflies & birds along with late season flowers bringing some cheer!

The heat & humidity have made a return to our area and many other areas…around the globe. It’s once again time to take it easy, if you can, with plenty of fresh water & a cool spot for all!. Help out the wildlife around your garden by offering cool water…and change it often. Keep seed in the coolest spot that you have (outside), clean your feeders often & don’t totally fill them especially if they are located in a sunny spot. (Move them to a shady spot if possible.) MOST IMPORTANTLY…Reminder to check on elderly neighbours!
It seems like there are Eastern Cottontail Rabbits in every shape and size….everywhere! Unfortunately they seem to like some of the plants one doesn’t want them to like!
