A tray feeder or fly-through feeder can be attractive to many birds, including the Woodpeckers! While they most-often cling to a peanut feeder, suet feeder, etc., they will also accept favourite foods from other types of feeders. Woodpeckers are always fun to welcome & observe around the garden!
When one sees a photo of a Northern Cardinal in the snow, it can stir up many wonderful thoughts & memories! If that photo is captured in a forest, a fir tree or on a branch layered with snow, even better! It’s always wonderful to see the Northern Cardinals visiting feeders any time of the year. Stop by our location at 1830 Gainsborough, London to pick up everything you need to welcome all the beautiful birds to your garden!
While our feeders have been fairly quiet so far this season, activity picked up yesterday! With the recent snowfall & cooler temperatures, several species were observed. The visitors included a Tufted Titmouse pair! (For a few more pics, check out our fb page!
It’s Friday, December 31, 2021 ~ New Year’s Eve! We’re open today from 9am to 2pm, then we will be closed until Monday, January 3, 2022. Wishing everyone a very happy New Year’s Eve! Is it too early to think about the return of the Orioles in May?
We’re back to regular hours until Friday, Dec 31 when we’ll close at 2pm - New Year’s Eve. We will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day as well as our regular closure on Sunday, Jan 2. Thanks for supporting local!

We’ve had some snowy days to start December along with days of warmer temperatures….just never know what you’re going to get in S.W. Ontario! Whatever the weather, welcome birds to your garden or that of a friend/relative as feeders & seed make for a wonderful gift idea! An interesting & unique way to start someone with bird feeding is to gift them a seed cylinder….an easy way to see if they enjoy the entertainment that the beautiful birds provide!
Our Sunday openings begin this weekend with our hours being Sunday, Dec 5, 12, 19, 11am to 2pm…Thanks for supporting local this gift-giving season!

UPDATE November 18/21 - NOW BACKORDERED FROM SUPPLIER We’ve been waiting many, many, many weeks for these feeders….they finally arrived! We must say, it’s better late than never! While Oriole season has passed for this year in our area, if you or someone you know wanted one of these, we have a few now available. What a great gift idea for the bird lover on your list!

Lest We Forget
We’ve enjoyed some pretty special weather…hope you are enjoying Mother Nature’s display!
Have you noticed lots of blackbirds around, including Crows? Fun to see them all as Halloween approaches!
While the weather the last couple of days has felt more like autumn, we’re looking forward to more warmer, sunny days before much colder temperatures are the norm! We were delighted to see a pair of Eastern Bluebirds checking out a nest box the last couple of days while a Downy Woodpecker was also having a peek! It’s an excellent time to add a box to your garden so stop by to peruse our garden room including our supply of birdhouses. You never know who might check it out now & then make a possible return in the spring.
