TUFTED TITMOUSE VISITS!

Richelle Hunter

Pretty excited to have the Tufted Titmouse visit our seed cylinder yesterday as we haven’t had a visit in quite some time! Perfect, as well, that it was on our FeederWatch count day and cool that this cutie found the seed cylinder as it is hanging very close to our home!

HAPPY FEBRUARY!

Richelle Hunter

It’s hard to believe we have reached February….the shortest month of the year! While plenty of folks are still not seeing many birds around their feeders, there have been a few visits at ours, including this beauty Blue Jay! With snow, ice pellets, freezing rain possible in the coming days, make certain you have some food in your feeders. It’s not always necessary to totally fill them, if conditions are going to be damp. We don’t want you wasting seed that the birds may not want should it become wet.

FINALLY MORE SNOW, FINALLY MORE BIRDS!

Richelle Hunter

We’ve really experienced some strange weather for January resulting in fewer birds around the feeders for some….including us! With colder temperatures, of late, and more snow on the ground & in the area, we’ve seen an increase in feeder activity! Hopefully the same goes for you!

DUCKS AND GEESE AND MORE!

Richelle Hunter

If you’re driving through the countryside, you may notice many birds, and other animals, hanging out in recently-harvested fields. They are finding excellent sources of food to help them through the winter!

AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES

Richelle Hunter

For quite some time, customers have been wondering where ‘their’ American Goldfinches have gone. There always seems to be plenty of food in the wild for many of everyone’s favourite feeder birds…and the Goldfinches are no exception! As their food sources become depleted, they should return to feeders…we had a few Goldfinches around our feeders yesterday!. If you are not seeing many of them around, we recommend that you not totally fill your nyjer feeders….no use wasting good seed that may become damp, especially during these rainy days!
